Bowling Gone Wrong

The three of us went bowling tonight. It was all fun and games until Mady dropped a bowling ball on her pinky finger. It's all bruised now. :(

I don't remember what the final score was but Devon won of course. He can't just bowl for fun - it's all serious practice for his league. I'm pretty sure I lost but I had a little helper for most of the game.

Sledding

We had a nice visit from Brad, Sunny and Braden today before they went back to Chadron for the holidays. Brad and Devon took the kids out back and pulled them on the sled. Braden's goal was to get Nutmeg on the sled with them! Mady did two face plants into the snow and laughed and laughed.

It was quite cold out tho - their cheeks were very red when they came inside.

Nebraska CBRS Available - Finally!

Today is a very special day. My friend, Trish, was able to get a Certificate of Birth Resulting in Stillbirth for her son, Myles - finally. The law went into effect in April but the Department of Health and Human Services wasn't able to get all the forms and processes in place until today. I'm so happy for her and for all the work we did to get this far. You can read all about our journey to get the law passed earlier this year at: http://nemissingangels.blogspot.com

Yay!

In loving memory of Carter.

New Recipe

Tried a new recipe tonight that I found online on a bulletin board. It was very easy and Mady really liked it (that's always key).

Confetti Casserole
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 soup can milk
1 pkg of cream cheese (I only used 6-7 oz.)
frozen corn (however much you like.
2 cups cooked elbow macaroni

Brown beef, onion and garlic; drain. Add soup, milk and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted and smooth. Add corn. Heat through. Stir in cooked pasta.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Today Mady and I made a Rudolph craft out of a paper sack. I traced her hands for the ears and a shoe for the head. She helped glue it together and color it. She's very proud of her creation!

Lights All A Glow

Devon got the Christmas lights put up today. He borrowed a ladder from a neighbor to get the lights up on the top of our two story house. I stayed inside where it was warm and was teasing him to be careful and not fall off the roof. A few minutes later, Mady came looking for a rope. Apparently she couldn't find one so she made one out of beads (see photo). I asked her what the rope was for and she said it was for Daddy to catch him when he falls off the roof! Haha. She's such a smartie.

The lights look good - this is the first year we've done lights outside on this house. Mady's face when the lights were turned on was priceless! A couple sets of the lights are blinkers and when they went off for a moment she said "Uh-oh! Broken!"
