Our Story

Devon and Brandy met one stormy, summer evening while driving around in Chadron, Nebraska in 1996. Two days later, Devon was calling Brandy his girlfriend. They dated for 9 months and then went their separate ways, Devon to the Army, Brandy to New York. In 2001, they agreed to visit each other and things were starting to click.

On November 1, 2001, Devon took Brandy out to eat at the Landmark Restaurant in Arizona. After dinner, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She immediately said yes, with tears in her eyes. The wedding took place on May 26, 2002 in Mesa, Arizona.

Devon graduated Scottsdale Culinary Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona in October 2002. He works full time at the Cheesecake Factory and is now the Executive Kitchen Manager of the new Omaha, Nebraska store.. In his free time (what free time?), he likes to cook (with lots of garlic, onions and shallots). He also loves to watch NASCAR every raceday Sunday and his favorite driver is the late Dale Earnhardt. Read more about him.

Brandy received an Associate's Degree in Marketing, Management and Sales from Broome Community College in Binghamton, New York in 2000. She is a Association Manager/Conference Planner/Web Designer for KCA in Chandler, AZ. She recently opened the KCA-Nebraska office (she works from home - ha!) She enjoys swimming, creating scrapbooks and webpages. Read more about her.

Devon and Brandy added a member of the family back in October 2002. Nutmeg is their teacup yorkie who keeps them company. He weighs 3.1 pounds! Read more about Nutmeg.

In January 2005, Devon and Brandy's firstborn son, Carter, was born straight into heaven at 35 weeks gestation. He died due to a congenital heart defect called Ebstein's Anomoly. They miss their son very much. Read more about Carter.

In May 2006, Devon and Brandy welcomed their new baby girl, Madylan. She is growing so big and she is spoiled rotten! Read more about Mady.

In September 2006, the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Devon is the Executive Kitchen Manager of the new store which opened November 1, 2006. The weather is quite a change! (But being originally from Nebraska, they'll get used to it!)
