I ♥ Project Life
So I've totally been bummed that I haven't done much scrapbooking lately. I write down random things that my kids do (I had started a journal of one or two sentences a day with "What do I want to remember today?" but then wasn't even consistent at doing that.) I had the first edition of Project Life in the box, in a closet still. I really wanted to use it (as I'm so obsessed that I bought the new turquoise edition as well but didn't even have 2010 done yet!)
So a couple weeks ago I sat down and chose the photos to use (all 365+) for 2010 and put them in a folder on my computer. I had too many so I merged a lot of them using Picasa. I ordered them all from Shutterfly. When they arrived, I sat down and inserted all of them in a 3 hour timeslot one night. Not too bad to have a base scrapbook for the WHOLE YEAR finished in one night. A couple days later, I quickly stamped the date cards with the week. Now I'm working on the journaling by referencing my "What do I want to remember today" journal, my blog, facebook and my memory. It's so invigorating to have that full year's worth of an album mostly put together within a short timespan. Mady enjoys picking out which card I will do the journaling on and helping with the day of the week stickers.
I'm hoping to get to work on the 2011 version quite soon, and I made a new year's resolution to scrapbook more this year, for my kiddos!
Here's to Project Life in 2011! Thanks Becky!

Book Review
An Exact Replica of a Figment of My Imagination: A Memoir by Elizabeth McCracken
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Loved it. It was like she was reading my mind/feelings. Difficult to read after losing a child, but one of those reads that makes you feel better. I read it in one sitting. It's in my "Do not let anyone borrow" list.
