Christmas Home Tour
Pillows in blue, brown, and pink. Yes, my husband loves the introduction of pink into our Christmas home decor! (NOT so much! I, on the other hand, think it’s fun and festive!)
White felt wreath to match the snow and brighten up the gray (needs repainted) front door.
My motto: Glitterize! Shiny blue, pink and green trees, some matching ornaments and the darling hot pink glitter deer I found at Hobby Lobby!
Hope you enjoyed this little tour of some of our Christmas decor! Happy holidays!

My Pinterest Project: Ghost Pillowcase Dress
This week’s project is Halloween themed in honor of the upcoming holiday. I made it just in time for Mady to wear it a few times before Halloween.

Rylan’s 2nd Birthday and 4th of July Bash - Elmo Party
We had Rylan’s birthday party on the 4th of July. Party styling by ME!
The invite (without the real info for privacy):
The Decorations:
Elmo pinata and water bottles.
The cake no one ate – too many goodies!
Sesame Street coloring pages:
The cute birthday boy!
Recipes:
Mini cheesecake tarts – Devon made these. They were my fav.
Mini blueberry and cherry pies – Mady helped me make these!
Cake batter bark – This is what it’s supposed to look like. I used dark chocolate and white chocolate chips, maybe that was the problem? I didn’t want to splurge on the expensive chocolate. Or maybe it was the the freezing/cooling time, not sure. Mine tasted good, just wasn’t as pretty!
BLT salad – Devon made this. It was a hit!

I made this wreath over the weekend and love how it turned out! I used this tutorial from Mrs. Priss.

Land of Nod Inspired Floor Cushions
These took me hours because I’m not that good at sewing but they turned out really cute! I used the tutorial found here.

Birthday Balloon Wreath
This balloon goes up for the month of May for Miss Madylan’s birthday month! It’s huge and I’ve found that it sticks to the front door when it gets hot. Whoops! Tutorial found here (mine is way bigger than the one shown and took a lot more than the number of balloons listed.)

Pink and Black Animal Print Taggie
I have two new nieces in my life. They are so sweet! Here are their taggies from Aunt Brandy! I used this tutorial over at Joy’s Hope and left off the crinkle and made them a bit bigger at 12X12 instead. (Rylan likes to sleep with his so I don’t want them to be noisy.)

New Pillows!
Okay, so they aren’t new pillows, but they are new pillow cases for the throw pillows in my office. I found this lovely fabric at Joann’s for 50% off and made the pillows using this tutorial. They took me longer than 10 minutes, but I got them done!

They even match my cute binder! (Yes, I’m a dork.)

Snow Play
We decided to try out a new idea today - painting the snow. Not sure where I got the idea, somewhere in blogland. It’s just food coloring and water in spray bottles. Here, Mady is writing her name (click on photo to enlarge).
Rylan didn’t know what to think. Especially when Dad stuck him in a snow drift!
We also built a snowman. It was the first time Devon and I have ever played in the snow together (I pretty much hate snow usually, but it was warm enough that it was bearable). It was kind of romantic – until we bonked heads putting the middle on the snowman!
Yes, Devon is wearing shorts. And the face and buttons on the snow dude is real spray paint (not the food coloring/water mix Mady was using – It’s real black spray paint. Leave it to Devon!)
