8:30 a.m.

Mom is at work.

11:00 a.m.

Mom’s back hurts off and on with contractions.  Could this be the day?  The gals at work all start wondering and asking questions.

12:30 p.m.

Mom leaves work early because of the contractions.

3:00 p.m.

Dad leaves work.  Mom is at home laying on the couch watching a movie called The Notebook.  The contractions have seemed to slow down.

5:45 p.m.

Dad, Grandpa Norm and Grandma Jan go out to eat at Claim Jumper.  Mom stays at home monitoring contractions that are anywhere from 13 minutes to 7 minutes apart.

6:20 p.m.

Mom sends a text message to Dad saying that they better not dilly dally around.  She thinks this is it.

7:00 p.m.

Dad and Grandpa Norm and Grandma Jan return home.  They got their food ‘to go’ and eat it in the kitchen while Mom rests in bed.

7:38 p.m.

Aunt Tiffany calls and talks to Mom for a few minutes.  Mom can’t talk because the contractions are getting stronger.

7:45 p.m.

Mom tells Dad she wants to go to the hospital.  Dad runs around grabbing the hospital bag and last minute items.  Grandma Lori calls to check on Brandy and Brandy can’t talk because the contractions are too strong.

7:50 p.m.

Dad drives Mom to the hospital.  The contractions are 5 minutes apart.

8:06 p.m.

Mom and Dad arrive at the hospital.  Dad parks in the OB Physician’s parking space because it’s the closest spot available.  Mom’s contractions are 3 minutes apart.

8:10 p.m.

Mom and Dad check into triage at Banner Desert Medical Center.  They are asked to wait in the waiting room because triage is full!!!

8:15-8:35 p.m.

Mom and Dad walk the hallway in the waiting room area at the hospital waiting for a bed in triage to open up.  Mom’s contractions are now 1 minute apart.

8:40 p.m.

Mom gets a bed in triage.  They check her cervix and she is 9cm dialated already.  They move her into labor and delivery.

Mom is told that she doesn’t have time for an epidural.  Baby Madylan is going to be delivered naturally.  Mom doesn’t like that very well.

9:31 p.m.

Dr. Butler Poku delivers baby Madylan.  Everyone is healthy and doing well.
